Exhibition at the "Association of Magistrates of Argentina" (2004)

In september of 2004 the first part of the series "Women in the Opera" was presented in Buenos Aires. At the opening reception, there was a show: the former artistic director of the argentinean opera house Teatro Colon, Mr. Juan Carlos Montero -Cristina's old friend- introduced the arias that were the inspiration for every character depicted in the pictures. In that way, the spectators were exposed to "Violeta" by Maria Callas, to "Walkiria" by Birgit Nilsson, to "Museta and Mimi" by Mirela Freni and the like. Here are some flashes of that night:

Reviews: Catherine Litt, from the Nanaimo News, wrote: "Fascinating, intricate and captivating are three words that come to mind when looking at Cristina Alvarez Magliano's artwork" "(her) exhibit is both alluring and astounding. She is a painter, but it's safe to say her work is unlike anything you've seen before. What sets her apart from traditional artists is her choice of canvas and paint -both of which are wood-" "Each piece offers multiple visual rewards for the viewer. Not only is her work pleasing to look at but it's fascinating to examine" (4/7/2005).
