The image depicts the female character of "Samson and Dalila" and focuses on the ambition of Dalila, her ability to cheat Samson and to cut his hair leaving him without any strength.

The principal character of the opera, 'Norma', is a goddess of the druids that was in love with a roman governor; her ambiguities are apparent as she does not know if she should select her love or her children and her country.

"Lucia de Lamermoor" is a very young lady who is obliged to marry a man she does not love. After that wedding she killed her husband and went downstairs absolutely mad, untidy and dressed in a night gown, specially because she knew her truly love was alive.

Donizetti's "Lucia de Lamemoor" is a very young lady. She is in love with a young man too, but her brother forbids these lovers to be together due to political and personal enmity. She is beautiful and sweet, but dies of love and madness.

Salome is the biblical 'Judith' of R.Strauss. She asked for the head of John the Baptist as a price for dancing to her step-father; she performs the dance of the seven veils.

SENTA

In the "Flying Hollander" R. Wagner made Senta to be the purest lover that could free The Hollander from the curse that obliged him to wander forever in his red wing ship throughout the seven seas. So, the inspiration for this 'Senta' came from Chagal.

Verdi's La Traviata was based in the famous novel The Lady of the Camellias, to whom he named Violeta. This single woman had a dissipated life style; however she felt lonely sometimes: "...sola, abandonata, in questo populoso deserto da Parigi...."
